Good luck with your search for a vehicle that has no known issues.

That's what warranty is for after all.

That has no bearing on the issue there has been problems and regardless of a warranty this problem caused me to back out of getting a 2016.

Yes no vehicle is perfect most Toyota are known for a long lasting non problem vehicle, hell my 2013 has had no issues other than catalytic converter packing blew out and lost all power... dealer said they had problems with them.... as of the one poll on another pist, if this was a 1-5% problem with a manual it's a small issue not a biggie. But from last time I checked ppl with this issue was at 28% which is way to much and it seems Toyota acts as though this is not a problem. Wish all the guys that had a issue voted on this one. Look who wants to risk buying a new vehicle only to need a used refurbished tranny at 2000 miles....

I am a Toyota guy and now I have to think of the possibility of buying a piece of shit Ford or chevy which highly pisses my off and let alone I will have to get a damn automatic. So you are damn right this is a viable reason and post, one thing is a fact if we as buyers don't complain or send Toyota this info then it will never get fixed..

April. Manual Tranny has been so smooth. So smooth. Amost shifts itself with minimal effort.

My truck was built in November. I took it on a 2K km road trip recently. I've had no shifting issues to date.

Where do you get this 28% value? Is that from the people that responded to the poll or is that from all 2016 owners with a manual transmission? That would be just over 1 in 4 of all owners if that data were correct and if so, definitely more problematic than the AT owners.

Do yourself a favor and go drive a few new trucks and see if you really need to get rid of your 2013. If you're happy with it then keep it, if not and you're swayed by how the new truck drives then buy a new one.

No point in trying to collect data when your samples are skewed because not all buyers read TW and not all readers may respond to the poll so the results are misleading.

I did test drive the auto and the manual lmao I drove 2 1/2 hours just to drive a manual, it was the only one in the state. It was smooth as butter in shifting had just the right amount of power so I dealed with the dealership and got a price all the hagle crap and he had one on order all he had to do was change color to inferno.

After I seen the first thread I backed out...and it was at 28% now it is at 24%...

Maybe you need to read the 100 plus pages of the manual transmission fan club instead. It likely has more concrete data and experience than that poll that scared you away from your purchase.

It was the best test drive and love for a vehicle I have wanted for 4 years, went to the bank to get pre approved. Lol that truck was mine. But hell I'll wait for 2017 they will have the inferno still and hopefully the have fixed the issue and bugs and etc..

I have been through so many on that thread and that issue did pop up... if there is a issue I can give this info to Toyota to help these guys out, because right now they act like they have never heard of issue. Lmao they even said there is no issue with the entune radio/smart center shutting off even though a update is coming to fix it..

Fyi, mine hasn't restarted / shut off in three months of ownership with my android phone paired, navigation running and usb music all running continously. Truck has 6k miles on it.

I've had no issues with Entune so not everything you read happens to everyone.

I don't think anyone denies a few have issues, but 90% of people with issues are going to go to the Internet to bitch about it. Majority of people with no problems won't come to a forum to tell people how trouble free their new truck it. You really can't base these things on Internet polls and a thread or two.

Yea I get what you are saying and them posts did make me back out and wait till the 2017 comes out, luckily we have this forum to put issues and problems so if Toyota cares to can look at the issue.... I loved try that truck drove with alot of power and shifted perfect, but the only 2 cup holders sucks I hated that.... if you have 2 ppl dipping like me and most of my buddies ha ha you need at least 4. The looks of this truck are badass it fits me like a glove...but a thought of having to get a new transmission put in when new is a big scare to me..
