Wassup Y'all. I'm happy to be here. I was never a member of any TACO forum but I bought my first Tacoma in 2010. It was a 95.5 base model truck, nothing special but it worked and I did all maintenance to it. However I had to sell it when my wife and I purchased our 2016 Tacoma. At that time we did not see the need for 2 trucks. But we all know how that went, yep its her truck and I became truck-less. After months of looking for a 2001-2004 Regular cab prerunner, I found something that came close to my unicorn(4x4 5speed regular cab) and I just had to buy it.

    2002 Prerunner at the dealer.

I removed some bling the first hour of owning it...

Thanks guys. Well I got it for $7k drive out. It's probably on the high side but it's the body style I wanted. 99% of the trucks for sale in Houston were either extended cab or crew cab and it wasn't an option for me. It was a regular cab or nothing for me. Anyways I've been in the Honda scene for almost 2 decades and did all my work from oil changes, suspensions to engine swaps, also got a lot of experience working on my 95.5. Basically I'll save money on labor if I ever need to put it work on the truck. I know nothing about aftermarket parts for these trucks, but I'm thinking of getting a bull bar for it.

I think $7k is a little on the high side but considering its so hard to find a clean low mileage 1st gen, I think you made out well. The gray truck above was purchased for $5,500 and about another $600-700 went into it for tires and a new front grill, headlights, and bumper as it was flaking and dulled out. I think it had 136K miles.

The weathertech bug deflector is a nice little mod on that truck. I had one on my 98 and it makes the front end look a little more aggressive. Relatively inexpensive and easy mod.

And nice truck! I liked my 98 regular cab more than I like my 2014 double :)
