Thank you all for reading and any assistance. Last night after my truck had been running, no signs of any problems before, it would not start. The lights would come on and then all the indicator lights would light as well but no crank. Hooked a jump box and all was good, the headlights would flicker a little but everything else was normal. Shut the motor off and went to restart and the same thing, had to use the jump box. The jump box has a meter and with the motor running I was at 14 volt. Drove the truck for about a half hour, shut it off and immediately tried to restart and the same thing, lights but no crank. Any help would be great, thank you!!

How old is the battery? Even newer ones can have issues. Are the cables/post connections clean and snug?

I would have the battery LOAD tested at a shop. Maybe one of the McParts places can do it.

This is what I would start with.

Need to have battery tested at an auto store. It's probably bad.

    Lester,

Thank you for your response. I thought the batter as well but it was all of the sudden and then would not take any charge from the alternator. Also, the second I shut it off, I tried to restart and nothing. Thank you!!

Bad battery. This happened to me before. Cells in the battery wouldn't take a charge. Once the car started with the jumper, it runs on the alternator. Simple fix is to go to autozone and have them chapeck the battery and you can go from there.

Most likely battery. If youre reading voltage while its running, then the alternator is supplying the battery, but it isnt holding a charge. Batteries can die quick.

Make sure your terminals are clean and tight, then check your grounds. Otherwise, yeah, bad battery.
