Tracking the miles you drive is best done by GPS. I'm sure the tacoma uses a cable, but i could be wrong.

It is when it's working properly. There have been disruptions in service in the past. For instance recently due to military activity some areas of SoCal for instance. But I wouldn't know anything about that

I had arecent trip from san antonio back to fort worth and captured an average of 23.9mpg over 255 miles. I'll see if I can find it.

I've gotten 30mpg a couple of times with my 4x4 limited. I drove basically the same way as the OP - constant throttle the whole time. (truck slows down on uphills, and speeds up on downhills).

It's not very practical because you end up slowing pretty dramatically going uphill (40 - 45 mph on the highway!!!) but you do maintain the 30+mpg in realtime which is the key...

It can be done, yes, but since no one drives this way it's just for shits and giggles and bragging on the internet. I found the EPA estimates to be pretty accurate for my driving style.. I usually average 21mpg.

My '16 TRD-OR is off the same 2% (both speed and distance) that my '12 was with stock tires based on GPS and mile markers. i.e. 100 mile makers or gps miles only reads 98 miles. Stepping up 1 tire size does seem to correct the speedometer.

Show me the law, please. Manufacturers follow SAE standards which is 4% accuracy.

Especially when it randomly resets about once a week like mine has started doing ... Toyota is doing it's part in bringing the pen and paper back.

YES, going up to 265/75-16 from the stock 265/70-16 made my speedometer correct (it read fast before)... but then the once accurate odometer is now off about 4 miles per 100 too few, in my case.

My speedo both digital and analog are off by 1 to 2 mph slower than my GPS reflects
