I actually like the idea of these. If you have a toolbox in the bed, it doesn't leave a lot of room. When I go camping I struggle to find space.

I've had one of these for a few years, and definitely use it from time to time, like when I'm going camping or hunting. Recently I wanted more use of it, and stole an idea from the Frugal Mods thread where, with the help of a friend, we disassembled it, expanded it and turned it into an in-bed shelf after building a couple of bed rail brackets

This weekend, I'll be turning it around and it will become a bench seat for my nieces at the drive in, once I stuff a seat cushion over it

But all is not lost in it's original form. I got a piece of steel plate, welded some leftover angle to it and welded that to the hitch post

Last month the reassembled unit was used on my hunting trip, where it hauled a huge Yeti cooler with 3 more smaller coolers strapped to the top of it (sorry, no photo of that)

    Many & varied

    Hey OP: that looks great.
TurboGT: I did something similar using a regular cab defender rack on sale from Amazon. Keeps my camping gear up & out of water on wet trips and great for long gun cases for hunting on the farm.

I thought about doing the same (the KB VooDoo bars) but I wanted something that sat below the bed rails as opposed to above them. Mine bolts into the bed rails as well and slide back and forth if I want (might push them to the back of the bed if/when I put the canopy back on, but on the same token that's why I have the bed extender back there. Will have to see
