Anyone have or have seen a sub that will
Fit under the front seat? I would rather use that space then behind my seats in the back, plus I am not looking for that much thump just a little anything is better then what the previous owner did to it??? Need a new head unit and full set of rear front and tweeters!!!! What's the best head unit with GPS for the money?

The thing with a sub is, it needs to be in a box and technically that should be enclosed. IE: a sub in a box and the box in the trunk.. I don't think a sub under a seat would be very effective..

Otherwise what set of door speakers and tweeters will do a good job?

I replaced the head unit and the stock speakers in my 06 and it sounded great. I did mine for about $800 installed. If I were in your shoes that's all I would do. I was looking at the pioneer and alpine Apple CarPlay head units.

The truck didn't have controls back then unless you had the jbl. It had built in Bluetooth. I had to install a small microphone. I would be surprised if there wasn't a wiring harness to tie into the controls and Bluetooth mic.

Almost any head unit will work with the steering wheel controls. There are several companies that make adapters to connect head units to specific vendors' steering wheel controls. 60 bucks or more, but they work.

I have just 1 of these and I think it provides plenty of bass for the standard user. I play a lot of bass heavy music and it's done everything I've ever wanted it to do. No doubt a proper sub/enclosure would be better.

Where did everyone get there's and did you put it under drivers or passengers seat? Did it effect your heated seats if you have them? What do you think is better a flip up head unit or a double dash touch screen one. As it will be used for a navigation unit as well....

I think i've seen some other members use a Kenwood version of an under seat sub.

i got a low profile Pioneer sub to fit very well under the passenger seat (losing zero functionality) with some minor modifications to the bracing bar, brackets and sensor mounts underneath..

Kicker 8" hideaway subwoofer underneath the driver seat. Decent bump, but I was coming from a JL AUDIO 12" sub with enclosure from my previous ride so it obviously doesn't bump the same

Sorry to bring up an old thread! I’m researching this sound ordnance sub and was hoping someone on TW would prove that it fit comfortably under the front seat. Any issues sliding the seats back and forth? Thanks!

I tested it using a 1” rear seat lift and it cleared without issue. Never ended up getting around to the install though. Cannot comment on fitment without the seat lift.

Me too. And the sub will fit without a seat lift, but it’s tight enough that you may need to move the rear carpet out of the way.
