How to shut off Main. Needed light after oil change?

    Followed the instructions from manual & watched the YouTube videos but light still won't reset. How is this done?

    Early 2011 Tacoma with the red gauge face you use the Odometer to reset.
    IF you have a late year 2011 Tacoma with the white gauge face you follow the same procedure, but you have to use the Trip 1 instead of the Odometer.

    Turn on ignition, (do not start the engine).
    Set the Odometer to Trip 1.
    Turn off ignition.
    Press and hold the Trip reset button.
    Turn on the ignition ( do not start the engine ).
    You should see _ _ _ _ _ and it will count down these and then return to the trip reading, release the reset button.

    At this point the Maintenance Light has been reset.

    So it should not reset the Trip? just the light?

    Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
    If you do it right, correct.

    set trip 1 [or A]

    turn off vehicle

    hold down trip button, turn key to on, keep holding button hold till countdown blinks stop
