SSR-610-40 and what torque setting did you use on the leaf springs clamps?

Drove it from Shreveport LA to Odessa TX and stopped for the night. Leg two of my voyage will end somewhere in NM tomorrow, then on to AZ, and end in Cali for the next 4 years. This is the first road trip I've taken in it, and it's a big'n. So far, riding great, and averaging 21 mpg from what I hand jammed carrying 800 lbs of house hold goods and doing around 80ish. So I guess that's what I did to my taco today.

Gotta say, the OEM 450Q is making this drive a lot better

 

Pulled the black vinyl off the B pillar and removed the door badges off the truck. Like the clean look much better.

 

Yep, checked it multiple times.... Switch would light up but no light to the bar.

 

Are they flexible? I really have to get rid of the oem ones, always get a little rub when turning sharp going over bumps...

Something I'm noticing that I've heard others mention, my leaf springs are virtually flat. That's with the AAL from the toytec 2.0 on there. Are others seeing this? Normal?

 

Not really a big mod lol but I had a chance to change out my original interior light bulbs out for LEDs

Thanks! I was originally set on the MGM, but after going blue I've fallen in love with it. I've been doing a black on blue sort of thing which has been working out ok. I'll probably my regret it once it gets done trail abuse, but that's future me's problem!

 

Those who have raised your trucks,.. aren't you worried about roll over? Doesn't raising your truck lower your center of gravity and increase chances of a roll over? I am asking because I already feel my truck taller, and feel a bit tight on my thighs and clench my butt when I'm taking my turns as I corner.. I'm not a speed daemon, but I came from driving a car to this truck, so I know that I can't drive like a car does. Handling and cornering is night and day different, but still.. I still feel my tacoma is more taller than any truck I've driven, and feel there's the risk of roll-over. Especially if I get in an accident above 37mph.

 

You should focus on leaning with the turn. It helps the auto-stability control.

 

Technically it raises your center of gravity, increasing your chances of roll over!

 

You'd be surprised what it takes to roll one. What you're feeling is body roll, which is totally normal for trucks since they are designed with more suspension travel than cars.

It's not necessarily raising your center of gravity that hurts you, it's not having the right hardware / kit installed to prevent that center of gravity from moving to far side to side quickly that gets you in trouble. It takes quite a bit to roll a modern truck, even with 3" of lift. You can still end up performing a very aggressive emergency maneuver / swerve at high speeds and not go over, you just aren't going to have the same responsiveness / maneuverability as a smaller car.

 

Wow! I bought this from Amazon about a month ago (5/31) and installed it at my second oil/filter change-5K. The first was done at 1K (BTW--I have read the threads about this being a total waste of money!). However, it was only $24.47 w/free shipping then.

 

I've only had the RokBlokz on for about 12 hours or so, but I personally like them better. They look a little sharper than the WeatherTech and OEM ones. That being said if I wasn't getting bigger tires I would've stuck with the WeatherTechs.
