Exhaust

I'm looking to add a little rumble to my 02' Tacoma...I really just want to add a tip and just keep my stock muffler what's my best option??

 

TRD makes a great exhaust for the first gens, I have it on my '04. Combined with their headers it's a great sound, but the exhaust tip alone sounds nice. I'm not too sure if TRD is still offering it (I know they discontinued their headers for sure) but it's worth looking into.

Yeah I'd like to just add a tip not a whole new muffler

 

Just adding a tip changes the exhaust note? I wouldn't think it would have much impact without changing the muffler and / or diameter of the piping.

 

According to what I've read to add the exhaust tip would improve sound but you would possibly have to cut down your stock pipe to be able to add a larger diameter tip

 

Dynomax super turbo. Great mellow tone that's not overbearing.

EDIT: clearly not reading anything today.

Why a tip? You'll barely notice a difference. And it will probably be in your head. If you want it for looks then get whatever

 

Changing just the tip with stock exhaust will have close to no affect.
