Looking at doing a 2-3 inch lift OME, Fox or maybe just bilsten. Wanting to stick with the stock wheels. I do not want to Cab Mount Chop my new truck. So, i was wondering if the 285's are rubbing because of the diameter or the width? And would 255/85r16 be narrow enough not to rub or would wheel spacer eliminate it. Again trying to avoid CMC but don't really wanna settle for 265/75s.

    Thanks in advance?

255 should be better because it will fit on stock w/o a spacer. Moving the wheel outward will increase the chance of rubbing on the cab mount.

you wont be able to run 285 with stock wheels unless you run spacers because itll rub on the uca. with spacers and 285s youll rub for sure.

My 255's never rubbed on my 2015 until I went to Moab. Then they rubbed. And they continued to rub until I got an alignment done and had them push the Caster forward.

So, 285's require a cab mount chop. 255's still require trimming and possibly alignment changes if you do real off-roading. :)

alignment is a big key as well. if your planning on running an aftermarket uca, castor should probably be set at 3.5-4.0.
