Hello all. I have a 99 prerunner 2.7L extra cab. Stock prerunner height.

I want to upgrade my wheels and tires and had a few questions.
I currently have the stock 15x7 silver steel wheels with 265/75r15 tires.

What black steel wheel do you guys recommend in size 15x8? I like the procom steel wheels but I heard a lot of them rub the brake calipers on the tacos. Do you know of any procomp or other brand 15x8 steel wheels that fit the 99 taco for sure and don't rub the brakes? I'm also looking for a wheel that don't stick out the fenders too much. If I plan to put 31x10.5r15 tires; will I have any issues with rubbing? I like the series 51 and series 52 procomp look.

I was also interested in 16s but wasn't sure if I'll have any issues rubbing. For 16s, can you recommend a good inexpensive all black steel wheel that would fit the 99 prerunner? If I go 16s, I plan to possibly use 265/75r16 tires. Will 16inch wheels with that size tire have any issues rubbing with stock prerunner height?

What do you guys think look better 15s or 16s? Also, how much will gas mileage be affected by using 16inch wheels. Also, would I need to re-gear if I use 16s? I like the square donut look. What do you guys recommend 15 or 16s?

    Thanks!

Why do you want steel wheels? They are the heaviest and will affect mpgs/power far more than an aluminum wheel. Factory aluminum alloy will be far lighter. I would suggest finding some used OEM aluminum alloy wheels for cheap and painting/powder coating them black if that is what you want.
