What years were the solid front axles?

I'm going to start looking for a solid front axle as I'd like to build a rock crawler.
So what years did Toyota have the solid front axle 4x4?
I mean seriously, these guys make it look so easy!

Yeah.... if you want a solid front axle on a Tacoma you're going to be doing a lot of modifying.

Met a guy in Moab early June who did a solid front axle on his Tacoma. Talking total front end rebuild. Not for the faint of heart.

 

Better off looking at the land cruiser axles. Fj80 had solid front axle up to 1997.
I'm about to chop off my IFS stuff, but I'm using a diamond axle up front.

 

I just want to mod a minitruck with solid front.

 

If ur sas'ing your 2nd gen you should go bigger that a mini truck axle. They are much narrower than your truck. Dana 60 up front and 14 bolt in the rear is ideal. Check out the solid axle bs thread

My 1985 had a solid front axle. I am pretty sure that 1986 did too.
