4 cylinder TRI Y merge collector shortie header

Will a 2.7 3RZ 4cylinder that is supercharged benefit from running a Doug Thorley TRI Y Header such as this header , It has merge collector design and primary pipe size of 1-1/2" and (2) 2.25" collectors

 

Anyone ??

 

Yes, performance headers are hugely beneficial on a supercharged motor. More air going in means more should be allowed to go out, which a stock exhaust system isn't going to be able to do very efficiently. Performance headers will help to achieve this. This is why people who install headers on a stock NA motor don't see much performance gain, they're allowing more air out without putting more in. Of course they see some gains but nothing compared to what a boosted engine will see.

I have the TRD headers and exhaust on my supercharged 3.4l and out helps a ton, sounds sexy as hell too

 

With the TRI Y design will it sound differently ??

 

Different than your stock headers? Oh yeah, it'll be deeper and more aggressive I'm sure. But I've never had Doug Thorley headers though so i can't say for sure what they sound like in any sort of detail, someone else will have to chime in on that. They are popular though

 

I'm sure if you search YouTube or google someone has a video clip on the sound
