Hey guys so i am just getting started on my Tacoma and its just a 06 base 4cyl 4wd model and i ordered a set of TRD pro emblems and am having second thoughts about putting them on now that i have them. One of the reasons is because its not a TRD and second I don't want my tailgate to look gaudy. I have added the tundra 4x4 one and plasti dipped all of badges. I have always debadged my trucks in the past but im going to keep these ones on. So anyways what do you think and where should I put it?IMG_4092.jpg IMG_4091.jpg

I just wanna say I am honored to be the first member to tell you DON'T BE A POSER. Your truck is not a TRD or PRO so don't represent like it is. I've seen guys with stickers that say TSB, SR5, and Base 4X4. Thats way more bad ass because they own what it is.

It's your truck and it should reflect your personality. Ignore the haters.

Put what you want on it even if it's a sticker or emblem that says "Turbo Reftrofitted Diesel"

I'll second the do whatever you want, but with a caveat. Anyone who owns a Tacoma will know it's not a pro, and anyone who doesn't won't care one way or the other. Plenty of people take off their TRD stickers anyways.

If you wanna tag it up I would go for something like this.

Guys are going to know what you have, why have them laughing at you for adding fake badges.

Just my .02 but the people who even know what the badges mean are the ones who will know they're not genuine.

99% of the people who will see your truck won't even notice the badges.

I think you guys are right i guess i will just slap it on the tool box or ebay. When I bought it I could have gotten the TRD they had on the lot but it was two years older and I was going to be replacing most of the stuff that made it a TRD anyways. Thanks for your guys input

Just to clarify, TRD is not a specific model. The TRD Offroad, or TRD Sport, or TRD Pro are specific models. Nothing wrong with throwing a TRD badge on there. Not misrepresenting, or posing.

My last Taco was a 2009 access cab base 4X4. I bought it brand new out the door for 25,000$. After I did a bunch of little mods plus the 5100 shocks, struts, wheels, tires, and an avid "light bar" it was a pretty sick little camping rig. Honestly I really miss that truck. After I put some time and money into her I had no problems hanging with the loaded models, sans the weak I4. It's a Tacoma that's all that matters. You make the truck your own.
