    I have a 2009 four door Tacoma.

The driver side front door lock will not unlock or lock with the remote. I hit the button once for unlock and hear nothing. The lights blink, but no audible beep either. Hit the button twice and the other three doors unlock just like normal.

If I hit the lock button, all four doors lock as normal.

Basically, the driver side front door will not electronically unlock. Any suggestions?

You have a bad door lock actuator. I have 2 doors that do what you described. There's threads that show how to fix them with mixed results. They're expensive new. That's why I'm living with it right now.

I have same issue on the driver's door. The replacement parts start at $89.99. Looked at a video on how to replace it. A lot of disassembly to swap it out.

Thanks for the replies. For some reason, it started working as normal again. I'm sure it'll go out for good at some point, and I'll have to tear into the door.

This is my wife's and my fourth Toyota. Her 80s Corolla got 188k on it before the body almost rusted apart. My '04 Tacoma had about 205K when I traded it in for this one, and out '08 Rav4 has right around $180k on it. Great vehicles to say the least.
