Add fogs and a switch. Changing out bulbs to HID won't make much difference

 

Ok I will go search how to do that. Personally I want to spend money on the area of the truck where I functionally need it, and lights are a MUST.

They aren't super hard to build but it might be better to buy your first set if you aren't familiar with how they go together.

 

@lotuscupcar I'd just do some research and ask questions, to me it's not worth it to pay a shit ton more money when it isn't hard to do yourself, plus if things go wrong down the road you'll be more familiar with parts. But that's just my opinion

 

By the way. "Retrofits" and "projectors" refer to the same thing. They involve putting all new lens/shroud/ballast/controller/igniters/bulbs/etc into your OEM headlights for an HID system. The D2 Mini is the easiest and cleanest and best looking retrofit build.

There are also people on TW selling "bulb only" HID upgrades which I don't recommend. You will get a lot of crap from most people on here for even considering them.

I don't know much about lights, as all of my other cars have the factory HID/LED/Xenon. I would like light output like the TSX Wagon or the WRX Limited. Our 01 Prerunner has candles for lights.

I will do the reading as you guys suggested, and then come back with questions if I have any. I am handy mechanically, but wiring isn't my strong suit.

The electrical part is 100% plug and play for D2s. The part that takes a bit of courage is putting your new OEM headlights in the oven for 7 minutes in order to pull the lens off

 

Last time I did headlight baking was when I had a 1995 Toyota Supra Turbo, with yellow headlights. Talk about nerve wracking!

i have left mine in for a weekend and didnt have any starting issues at all.. i just got mine a few weeks ago cause a cel came on and now use it to monitor the o2 sensors and the tranny temps and oil and voltage is pretty much is all... wont really mess with it alot until i get my trailer then ill be abusing it lol

I have been thinking about getting flood/spot light. I have to see if I can figure out mounting etc.

 

Found a new piece for the A/C condenser in the front. Took forever getting it out only to find out is was cracked. bought it anyway and just glued it back together lol. Got a door handle, beat a guy to it by like 30 seconds lol. Got a few other things. Going back today because I think I might grab the hood. There were like 5 of us mauling this Tacoma lol

 

THIS...... ^^^^^^^^ I'm telling you projectors won't do much for you.

And that picture is with your fogs too. There is absolutely no cut on that beam.

 

thats just headlights on high beam and my fog light mod which isnt even noticeable with headlights on.

get a peice of angle iron and drill two holes in it then mount them to the license plate area
