    BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!
    Who's there?

Ok, but on a serious note, My old taco took a dump today. I have some pretty serious rod knock going on, I kind of deserved it, I was being mean to her a little bit off-road and she had 261k on the 3rz-fe, so yes I get it, I'm not here to complain because she has been an awesome truck.

What I am here for is hopefully some good links or advice on my next plan.

Plan 1: Rebuild the bottom end of the motor I have now with forged internals. Maybe bore it a little bit, nothing too crazy other than that. Anyone know of reliable place for those parts like forged pistons, connecting rods, etc. Remind me of everything I'll need to do that besides the obvious.
    OR
Plan 2: Need to do a little more research on this plan but possible swap to a different motor, more than likely a diesel. or what are other good swaps that have been done?

The truck is used as my toy, it's off road as much as it is on road. Looking for my next move is all, would like to get started on it soon but I have other cars I can drive while I am fixing this one.

Sub to see what you have in mind. Diesel swaps are sweet but in the US you are very limited. A 4bt is a popular swap. But without alot of work reinforcing your frame the torque power would crush it like a tin can. Just my two cents

LC Engineering makes all kinds of 2.7 internals. A bit spends but they are a well respected company.

Yes I know of them, priced a forged bottom end internal "kit" for like $1,200. The sky is the limit with them though.

Actually half way sort of looking into a 1KZ diesel swap but I would like a half cut and can't seem to find any...

The 4bt is so damn tall you'd probably need a 3"+ body lift to clear the hood.

The Volkswagon TDI is a potential swap candidate (there's a thread on Pirate4x4 about it) but it's an expensive swap without much more power than the 3RZ.

Build the 3rz for boost. Put a big turbo on it. Have fun.

Or put an ls in it...
