What a great time! went to Illinois gulch, these roads are so much fun to drive, around and hour and a half away from Denver. little difficult but it was great fun!! does anyone have any input on pro comp pro runner shocks? they say 6 inch lift for 380$ pretty cheap let me know!IMG_1361.jpg IMG_1365.jpg IMG_1366.jpg DSC01151.jpg DSC01121.jpg IMG_1361.jpg DSC01143.jpg Gulch

380 for a set of shocks that lift 6 inches is going to be trash. You'll need more changes to drive lines and mounts to lift 6 inches

A quality 6" lift will EASILY cost 10X that.

Had lots of fun on the White Rim road in Canyonlands, UT this weekend.

Friday night, stayed in Horsethief campground, just outside of Canyonlands:

    IMG_20160625_090709.jpg

Descending into the canyon on Saturday morning:

    IMG_0018.jpg IMG_0469.jpg

One Taco amidst a sea of 4Runners (two 3rds, one 4th and a 5th gen) and a Ram:

    IMG_0077.jpg

Ominous warning, but the rangers told us that it should be passable now:

    IMG_0034.jpg

Climbing up Murphy Hogback to our campsite:

    IMG_0134.jpg IMG_0136.jpg IMG_0144.jpg IMG_3693.jpg
    IMG_3695.jpg

At the campsite. Collected lots of red dirt already:

    IMG_0484.jpg

Coming back down Murphy's Hogback in the morning:

    IMG_0348.jpg IMG_3065.jpg

I hit 2222 miles during this trip. MPG not so great on the trail, but that was expected:

    IMG_20160626_122419.jpg

And here's the "impassable" section. Really wasn't bad at all:

    IMG_0417.jpg

Climbing back out of the canyon Sunday afternoon:

    IMG_0466.jpg

Didn't really have any trouble, used crawl control on a couple tricky parts but nothing was really that technical. Had a lot of fun, can't wait to get out on another trail!

It's not too far from SoCal up to Utah. :)

Yeah the highs were over 100 all weekend, so we skipping the couple hiking trails that we could have done for some cool views. Guessing also because of that, we hardly saw anyone else all weekend, just a couple jeeps at the beginning that turned off to follow the Shafer trail.

I feel for ya then. My wife enjoys camping, but she's still warming up to going offroad. Some parts of the White Rim road were just too much for her and she just huddled in the seat with her eyes closed.

Just gotta find something fun for her to do while you're gone for a weekend sometime. My dad used to go wheelin' with some friends and started bringing one or two of us kids with him long before my mom ever dared to come on a trip.

she needs a shower every night and she wouldn't do that cliff edge road after it didn't stop for more than a half mile

Like I said, find something fun for her to do and leave her to it while you go out wheelin'. :)

Stay in Moab. You don't have to go down the Shaffer switchbacks to get onto WRT. You can take Potash road. Just do an out and back to someplace like Lanthrop canyon Rd to hang out by the river.
