How much did everyone pay for their maxtrax? They're $150 on Amazon. I was under the impression they were $50-100 more than that.

Edit: Nevermind It was an off brand. Maxza or something. Just misread it.

$250ish if you can find them on a group buy, $300 normal pricing.

New Mexico here. I'm headed up to Silverton/Ouray this weekend and looking for dispersed camping. Thought about Clear Lake but it sounds like snow is still blocking access to the top. Would like to run the Alpine Loop but don't know about camping around there. Any suggestions for good spots? I'm on OME with 33's, same on trailer, so fairly capable.

Hello fellow Coloradans. Looking for thoughts and opinions: I am in the process of assembling all the parts I'll need for an 5100/OME 885/HS multi-leaf lift and wanted to ask what recommend for front end "maintenance" should I do while I'm at it?

My truck has 104,000 miles on it - mostly highway / commuter mileage. Don't have any known issues right now other than I'm experiencing what feels like a front end vibration starting at about 60 MPH. Am going to crawl under there this weekend and poke around but it got me thinking about what I should do while installing the lift.

What I'm curious about are wheel bearings, UCA / LCA bushings, ball joints, CV axles, differential bearings, & propeller shaft u-joints. Basically everything that wears out on the front end. I am already planning on doing the LCA cam bolt replacement with the MOOG problem solver bolts if needed.

The way I look at it is if I have it all apart I want to replace what makes sense but if the stock parts are going to take me to 200K miles why fix what ain't broke?

Throw the Moog Cam bolts in the trash before you end up having to do it twice.

Anyone have an extra set of hands they can lend this weekend(Sat or Sun) for a leaf spring and flip kit install? Not expecting it for free so let me know what kind of beer you like or other non-sexual form of payment :cookiemonster:
I couldn't get it done last weekend and the independent Toyota shop near my work is short staffed and can't get me in until the 14th.

Hey @aero3685 I'm located in Arvada(Leyden Rock area). I'm good for either day that works best for you if my location isn't too far out from you.

Not sure how long it should take, but Sunday may work better as long as we can get it finished by 2pm'ish. I'm in Golden, so your area is easily accessible.

The eccentrics don't key into the bolt nearly as well as the OEMs. They round out and make them impossible to align. Most people seem lucky to get a couple alignments out of them before this happens. They is also a lot of slop in between that connection even when new.

OEM is the only way to go for LCA cams.

Awesome! I don't suspect it should take longer than 2-4 hours with two people. I have already started to hit the bolts with PB Blaster and can try to break the bolts free on Saturday ahead of time to minimize snags. I don't expect rust to be an issue:fingerscrossed: since this was the first CO winter my truck saw. I'll PM you my number and address so we can coordinate and if anything comes up on your end.

There are spots off the Alpine loop, but they tend to go fast with 14ers and wheelers concentrated in the area.

I don't know much about wheeling with a trailer, but there are some switchbacks on the east side of Cinnamon near the top that can cause regular vehicles to do 3 or more point turns. Passing room can also be an issue in some places on some trails. I mention this not because I expect you to be pulling the trailer all the time, but because if you have to pull it over a pass to get to a campsite you may run into issues.

American Basin could be a spot to set up but it is heavily visited/traveled. There's also a little spur mine access road off Cinnamon before you get to American that is my favorite spot. Beyond that I can't tell you much for spots specific to the loop. I know some legs/areas are less traveled than others, but a lot of spots are fairly close to the road. On the Ouray side and in that immediate vicinity there are a couple of FS primitive campgrounds and then the Amphitheater, but the only legal dispersed camping is up Portland Creek Rd aka CR16. I think there's some more spots south on 550 before you get to Silverton (maybe a couple off Red Mountain Pass segments), but most of the time when I'm in the area we camp off the spur I already mentioned on Cinnamon, at the Wetterhorn TH, or over in Lizard Head which is south of Telluride on 145.

There's a couple people here from the area that may be able to make better recommendations that I who only visit every couple years or so.
