True, but at this price point, I am not sure they would have went through all that.

What if I told you anyone with an AP bumper over paid by $800.

That's not what I am saying, but, I would venture to say there is quite a bit of mark up.

a machine laser cuts the pieces, a welder welds them together on a jig, probably takes what, an hour....maybe two. Send it to sand blast, for a whole 15 minutes. Then powder coat.

The machinery is probably paid for, by now. Probably paying welders around $10 to start, toping out at around $21. Maybe.

You can pump out a lot of $1200 bumpers .... for pretty cheap.

    Only two questions I have.

Seeing the packaging, not a box that @Patch92 posted, anyone else thinking I was right about OP's bullshit unvail? I said it looked more like a bumper waiting to be packaged than one being unpackaged. Remember, he was tearing it open while being bitched out by his old lady. Then put it back in the box to take to work. Uh, there was no box, huh.

Secondly, @Patch92 . Post up the install instructions. Are they AP's minus logos and such?

Yeah OP, not done calling you out just yet. Just usubscribed.

Wasn't there a post early on (too lazy to look) saying that if Patch or Sub-Zero do get the bumper, the next thing that will happen will be people talking shit about the welds?

I mean come on, he didn't have any tape or shrink wrap laying around in his pics. Fucker went back to shipping and unfolded one(maybe mine) to be wrapped.

    ...too much shit to list.
Those are robotic welds. Go look on your truck around the coil bucket...they'll look the same. Good welds are strong, great welds are strong and look good. You don't get nice looking welds when a robot does stringer (drag) welds. Hand weave with a squirt gun or tig will get you the drool welds.

Nope. Those are stitch welds...not spot. Every bumper manufacture does the same thing on the inside. You're just wasting consumables fully welding that much plate.
