What about a company that already has the needed equipment and only need the dimensions?

No company is going to jump into the game of making aftermarket parts seeing a demand. Only established companies do that intorducing a new name.

All one off shops start as hand welded, hand measured, and test fitted. They price it up, people buy it up. It's new, unique and fits like glove. After a while it is outsourced so R&D can come up with the new next best thing.

Brand loyalty is about innovation, knock offs are about competitive pricing in an overly saturated market.

Maybe AP decide to drop 2nd gen and focus on 3rd gen, maybe not. Either way, this bumper is out there and more will fillow regardless of name.

 

What's really funny to me is we've all been primed and waiting to rip Cole to shreds, but then Mateo74 stumbles in here and talks some shit and catches all this pent-up rage. It's deserved, don't get me wrong, but most probably harsher than we'd normally be if we had the our desired target in range.

Very true ... Price is the ultimate judge. If people "only" wanted hand crafted quality, WalMart wouldn't exist. Good enough is, more often than not, good enough.

 

In all reality, if you had excluded the "just" from your initial post, it wouldn't have sounded nearly as condescending. This is true. However, there is still a market for organic, high end products. Many people want products that have just a little extra care taken in making them. Honda sells a lot of Civic, because sometimes getting from point A to point B is good enough. But Ferrari still exist so you can get there in the same amount of time while sitting on handcrafted, Italian leather (and it helps get the ladies when you are 70).
