Curious of anyone has had the opportunity to drive both the '16 Tacoma Sport & Off-Road and what the differences is in quality of ride on public roads?

Long story short, the Sport is designed to handle corners better, but will be stiffer over bumps. Off-Road will be softer, but will roll more in the corners. Sport has Hitachi's, and Off-Road has Bilsteins. Search is your friend, this topic has been covered many times. If you're looking to purchase, I'd recommend you test drive both.

The only way to know is test both for yourself. I have driven both and I prefer the feel of the sport. Yes, it is a bit stiffer over bumps, but not jerky. Around corners I love it, but I also am a motorcycle rider and atv enthusiasts. If you are looking for a casual ride then you probably will like the OR, if you like to push the gas in the turn and hug the curve, the sport is the way to go.

Off road is the softest but the salesman will tell you what you want to hear. My wife mentioned that the Sport we test drove felt softer than the OR we test drove during the test drive of the Sport and the salesman agreed with her and said the Sport has different shocks which are softer. He was an idiot who knew nothing about Tacomas

Most salesmen just know how to read people and make statements to push you toward a purchase. I had a salesman tell me there was no difference between the Radio HU on the Sport and the SR5. I left right then and there and never returned to that dealership. Now, if you want to know about shocks, I got a guy who is probably scared to go on another test drive with me. He can tell you how the trucks handle differently in a sharp curve. :D

I knew everything about the truck long before I test drove any of them. I once got out and walked to the back of an OR I drove to see if it had a chrome bumper to correctly tell the guy driving with me if it had Premium and Tech package on it or not. He was like, "yeah, sure it does!" It had a chrome bumper

The worst was when we went to a dealer who had ordered a truck for 500 over invoice for a customer a week before. We asked them to do the same for us and this hipster lady who was trying to help us said, quote, "This isn't the 90s, you can't order these trucks. Tacoma's don't go for MSRP; the require an addendum." My wife knows I don't argue so she asked for a sales manager. He was polite and I gave him all the numbers I had in my head that were a match to the invoice pricing for each option plus 500 dollars. He said these numbers probably aren't right but I'll go check... He came back and said all my numbers were perfect but the GM on shift woulnd't honor that pricing. The GM who did honor the week before was on vacation for a week and they even called her and she said no. So, we tried

Wouldn´t the moonroof be a better indicator than the bumper?
