    I am looking for about a 2 inch lift or so lift for my 2002 regular cab Tacoma 2.7. What would be the best kit for a reasonable price? I went to a 4x4 shop today and they recommended the Rough Country 2.5 inch lift kit, although they said they have never done a Tacoma before...

    I don't want to go ultra cheap and end up with a crappy kit that breaks or ruins my truck, but I also don't want to spend thousands of dollars. What do you guys think would be the best option for me?

    OME 883 front, OMD 3.5" rear, Relentless front bumper, smittybilt 9.5K winch
    Either OME 881's or 880's would be good for you, I have OME 883's with a v6, 4door, plate bumper, and winch and it gave me about 2.75 inches of lift, rides great.

    If you only want 2 inches get bilstein 5100 front and rear with an add a leaf and keep factory front springs, this will be less expensive and function the best

    Once the shocks break in it will feel pretty good and the diff drop wont hurt anything so why not.

    I'm getting ready to order 5100's all around with OME 881s and the Headstrong Off Road 3 add-a-leaf pack in the rear, should give me a cool 2.5".

    Remember that you only want to adjust the height of the billies if you're sticking with stock springs. Otherwise, leave them at 0" and let the aftermarket coils provide the lift.

    I've been reading that diff drops can actually cause more harm than good if your lift height doesn't require them as they can make it more susceptible to rock/ground damage :notsure:

    Good question lol, I'm not sure yet. I'm hoping I'll be content with my stock size KO2s for the time being because 1.) they're still relatively new, 2.) they're the best tires Ive ever had on and off road, and 3.) I really don't want to spend even more money on tires.

    We'll see, I've heard that if you stay under 3" lift that stock tires won't look too bad. I'm sure I'll want bigger ones but I prefer to wait.

    Plus, also have mpg's to consider

    If I was going to do a 2in lift i would use stock coils and set bilstiens up front to 2in and use a add a leaf in the rear plus the diff drop you wont need extended brake lines. This setup will handle well and not be extreme.
