Same chassis and same motor as the yzs except corked up from factory and soft suspension. My bikes been completely uncorked since purchasing and i redid the suspension. Its a do everything bike. Ive been on the track, trails, hit ramps, and its plated for the street

Great, but at some point you should if not WILL have to do a bottom end. And someone who rides and races MX consistently will need to rebuild their 4 stroke top and bottom end around 150 hours, thats about 1-2 seasons based on rider level, experience, cost adds up over a few seasons compared to a 2 stroke, I have both, rebuilt both, race and ride both, budget conscious riders ride smokers, thats why you'll see guys with practice 2 strokes to rebuild over and over again and a race bike 4 stroke. Will agree the yamaha 5 valve design was stellar, the 4 valve seems to be just as reliable.

Yea cant say enough about the 5 valves. They sound like a bag of bolts but keep running. When mine blows a 480 kit is going in.

I think for what op needs a 125 isnt really the best choice but it will be good for a while.

    My 1st post on TW & it's regarding motorcycles...lol
Back in the 70's -90's a guy couldn't go wrong with any of the big 4 Japanese manufacturers. Athough I'm not current with the rep they have these days, Suzuki use to be known for their flawless transmissions & full floater suspension. I'll take an 82 RM any day.

I have a 1981 CR125R Elsinore that I am restoring. As soon as I am finished I am going to start looking for a 1982 RM125. I love that bike!

A 250 2 stroke is the way to go. 2stroke is way better than 4stroke all my quads and and bikes are 2 strokes

I have an 03 YZ 125 and it is the best bike I have ever owned. I don't do motocross, I'm a trail rider. I have played on just about every bike out there in the woods and I enjoy the 125 the most. It's just light & fun. I'm 5'10 195 and can't complain at all about power from 125 2S. It is regeared and has an aftermarket pipe for a little more "low end grunt"! I took a few years off from riding/racing and am just getting back into it.
