hey everybody. Been talking to different people. I have a DCLB and want to get bigger tires with a slight lift. Some people say get 16 more tire=better ride. And better for off road. Some people say 17s are better. More tire size options. And they say it looks better. What do U guys think?

How often do you off road? I went from 17 to 16 & never looked back. More side wall and have no problem airing down to 20lbs. If your into more of the look, then 17 is for you.

Effect of 0.5" on sidewall will be negligible. Look at what tire you want to run, then see which size comes in C-load to minimize power robbing weight. Go from there.

Doing 16" or 17" probably isn't a huge deal. However, the more sidewall the more cushion. That's true. And as you lower air pressure for rock crawling and better grip on loose/soft surfaces (or rough terrain) that extra cushion is kinda nice. :)

    Here's 16" on 33's (Cooper ST Maxx)

I don't purposely go off roading. But I do have to go on some rutted dirt trails to get to where I need to go like my fishing spot. I was thinking of 275/75/17 or whatever is equivalent in a 16" wheel. Prob do a 2" lift kit

Secondary air filter removal, K&N drop in, Removed front mud flaps, Toyota all weather matts, skid plate, bug guard. Bilstein 5100's all around fronts set at 2.5", OME add a leaf, Goodyear Wrangler Authority 265/70/17, stubby 6.5" antenna, smoked tail lights, blacked out badges.
I preferred my 16" wheels to the 17" that I have now. More for aesthetics than anything else. The little bit more rubber you get with the 16" wheel I think gives more of a beefy look for the tire.

I just bumped up to a 17 for tire selection. The same "sizes" but slightly taller. That and look. Fuel milage was not a concern for me. All the tires are heavy at a certain point and a c rating is too thin for me.

Cool. I see your from SoCal, so I'm I. I run 265/75r16. I built my truck to get to my favorite fishing spots. Mostly Eastern Sierras and up northern Cali. Small lift and the 4x4 gets me where I need to go

Yeah I goto the eastern sierras a lot!! I love that place! So much to see. It got really muddy last weekend and was slipping and sliding everywhere. But that 4wd didn't disappoint. Got me out of everything with my bald ass tires lol

17's look better but 16's are probably better for off roading. A little more sidewall would help protect the rim.a little but seeing that you don't purposely off road the 17's are perfect. 275 70 17 would be perfect

I'd buy the size tires that fit the wheels on my truck. There is virtually no functional difference between a 32" or 33" tire regardless of whether it is on a 16", 17" or even 18" wheel. Keep the wheels you have and spend the money on better tires. Tires for a 16" rim will be the cheapest, 18" rims the most expensive
