Thanks! Installed class three hitch on the new one today, and would have put the Ride Rite air bags on, but the listed fit, kit 2410, is NOT it. It uses the same kit as on my 09 Prerunner, 2407.

    Beautiful

Any interior pics of the 2016? I don't see many 2016 4CYL access cabs. Looks great. I love those factory 5 spoke wheels. Can you tell me what the OEM tire size is and brand for the 2016?

I'll have it back here at the house next Thursday to install air bags, brake controller, and trailer wiring and will get pics then. My 09 is every bit as basic, except this 16 I got in the utility grade, which leaves out the back seats and sliding rear window, maybe a couple other things. But to me, it is super-nice. I've never had a vehicle with a backup camera and big display, bluetooth, factory electronic accessory hookups and maybe a few other things. It's got all this stuff standard.

It's also an automatic. I've always had standards, and my 09 is, but my employees, among whom are two former marines, can't drive a manual. That's just shameful, to me, but I guess I'm old. Since they couldn't use my 09 for long, relatively light jobs, I got them this automatic. Holy cow - 6 speeds! Paid $23500, plus all the other crap.

I cherish and love simple vehicles. Looking forward to the pics.

Also nice to see 23K access cabs. My local dealer has a $43K TRD Access Cab!!!

You don't have issues towing with the 2.7L? I have a 01 Prerunner 4 door 2.7L, and it is pretty underpowered. Not sure it could tow.

If I had to tow in the mountains, well, I wouldn't. I've had both a Cummins and a Powerstroke, so I know well what a real tow vehicle feels like, but on the flats, my 09 with a manual is fine. We'll find out about the auto soon enough. My trailer (above) is an Aluma AE58 (yay for corporate purchases and write-offs!) which is just 800 lbs empty. That leaves me with 2700 lbs payload. I've pulled near that, and on the flats, it's easy-peasy. Now keep in mind, I'm something of a hypermiler, and keep it at 65 or below. I don't pass anybody when I'm towing.

It's a matter of expectations, really. If you look at old trucks, they had even less power, and they towed trailers all the time. We're spoiled with 350 hp and 600 lb-ft. In central and east Texas, I get where I'm going plenty quick, and get 19 mpg pulling a 3500 lb trailer.

Your 01 is a 2.4 liter, though. Don't know the power ratings, but you can always tow - just don't ask for what it won't give.

Oh, and a 43k midsize pickup? Negative. No way, no how. Not what they're supposed to be.

    Mine is a 01 2.7L

I wish there were some flat lands here. its all HIGH grade!!

You are right. We had a B2200 Mazda back in the day. It didn't feel underpowered. In the day of 5.7L V8, things feel underwpoered.
