Hey all, just got my first tacoma. It's a 2006 double cab long bed with the TRD sport package. Ready to do a lift and new wheels and tires soon. Hears a lot of different things and I'm leaning towards a 3 inch ready lift with 285/70r17 tires. Has anyone here ran that setup? And if so what offset wheels are you running? And did it rub and require trimming? Etc.

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Welcome! Do some reading on the forums. 285s will rub and require cutting your truck for clearance. 3" lift will require Expensive UCAs. Going with 265/70/R17 or 265/75/R16 (32s) and a 2-2.5" lift will result in a more cost effective lift, with less power loss from heavy tires and no need to cut your truck. Not saying that 285s are not doable, but there are drawbacks. All depends on your use.

Edit: Contrats on the new truck.

congrats on the new truck! I just bought the exact same model and year. I have 265/70/17 k02 c rated tires. No rubbing no cutting, no lift yet. I'm going with ome 885 coils, 5100 shocks, single add a leaf in the rear.
