    Hello from CO!

I have been a long time Tacoma admirer now and would love to buy one. Got the mountains here to have fun in also. They are definitely pricey tho! Gonna be starting a new job with more money soon and I'm pretty sure now that I want to start up the savings for a down payment on one. I came on here wondering if anybody had any comments on the truck like what is a good year to buy? and just in general what I should be aware of? Are parts for these going to be expensive? Good selection for appearance mods out there? I haven't owned a truck before, but have test drove one and loved it. I think the years I like are considered a 2nd gen. Would love to get a brand new one, but that's way out of my range for sure! If there's a section I should be looking in for these questions, plz let me know. Thanks

    Welcome to the forum.

The best year to buy is the one you can afford, and the one you can afford that's in the best shape. I'm partial to the 2012-2015 trucks.

Parts aren't cheap, like everything else, some cost less than others.

Lot of aftermarket support for any second gen Tacoma, most aren't for appearance but for function, though you can look at a number of bolt on aesthetic stuff.

Sounds good. yea I'm no stranger to the fact that parts aren't cheap. This would be a daily. My weekend car is a Camaro that I have poored money into over the years. It would just be hard to not do anything to the Tacoma. Definitely will want bigger tires, a lift kit, and some HIDs to get it started.
