Aldean's first 3 albums were good IMO. My kinda party was decent, and it went downhill after that.

I've always liked country more than any other genre. Today's country artists have realized that they can become for popular and mainstream by becoming super poppy (Luke Bryan) or more toward rock (Jason Aldean) or more rap (FGL).

I like certain songs from most artists because I just generally like music, but as for country, really love Eric Church and Turnpike Troupadors. Got to see both live at stagecoach this year. Was a real blast!

Yes, that why I call it musical junk food. It goes down easy, but leaves you want something more. I just recently found Sturgill Simpson. So much awesomeness.

I am apparently not either after I heard that one.

I really don't know who any of the newer people are. I just flip through stations and catch some of it sometimes.

His new album is very interesting. Almost a funk/soul album.

My favorite song for the past 5 years is Pablo and Maria by Zane Williams. Id start with him. Ive met him twice and talked to him about 15min each time and he is a super down to earth guy. Plus he only sings songs that he writes which I think is really cool

    That was painful.

Cruise is also painful. But they do have songs like Dirt too, that was my high school "legacy project" song. Mom wouldn't let me do Here for a good time by george lol

And X2, Cody Johnson is really good[/QUOTE]

Can't say I like many of the new artists these days. Love Dwight. Steve Earle blew my mind when I was 16, guitar town is still my favorite song ever. His music got a little weird after he got clean, I still like most of it.

Agreed. Jon Pardi has the voice. Anything else is most likely pop-pushing trash.
