I am not sure what year this Dodge truck is, but I thought the size comparison was extremely interesting. Besides being slightly narrower than the Dodge, our Taco's are the same length as the old full size trucks back in the day!

The Taco is growing on some friends at work that own "real man" 45k V8 money pits. Most that have asked to take it for a spin have left with a smile on their face and admitted the thing will probably be around forever.

Lol the bed is actually useful in the older truck though.

Do you need to know, or care?
Compare the new Taco against an older Tundra, almost the same size. When I pull up next to an older Tundra, we are close in size. Seems nowadays full size getting bigger, but I guess that's demand nowadays from new purchasers. Better yet, compare the new Tacoma against the Gen 1. You'll get it.

What makes the "real man" trucks money pits? My dad has a 1999 Silverado with a little over 240,000 miles and the only thing that it has needed aside from routine maintenance was a power window motor. He also has a 2004 Colorado with over 150,000 miles and it has never needed anything aside from maintenance. Not knocking or defending any brand, just wondering why anything other than Toyota is a money pit.

If anything, the taco is the money pit. Mods everywhere and at every corner.

In 99 I bet he didn't pay 45k for that truck. Also, the "real man" comment was in quotations for a reason as that is what alot of dudes I know in Texas call full size trucks. Makes me laugh is all when those guys got in my Tacoma and drove it around and got out with a huge grin of approval. Not so bad after all it is it big guy! The trucks getting props with the big truck fans here is all.

And yeah thats a single cab but the Dodge has the extra long bed, pure work truck.

Sorry, I have to comment on this. They're money pits for two reasons: depreciation and reliability. Nuff said! I had the dealer buy back my 2014 Silverado due to issues, and then the new one the gave me had all the same crap going on. I then traded that for a 2012 F250 Powerstroke and it was extremely expensive maintenance wise and also nothing but trouble. At least the problems I've had with the Tacoma could be cured with some tranny fluid and Michelin tires. And don't get me started on MPGs.....
