I have a 2011 DCSB TRD 4x4 6spd. Apparently this Dbl cab combo is 'rare'? I prefer manual transmissions over autos (I get bored in Autos). Everyone should learn how to drive manuals.. It is sometimes a pain if I am doing slow wheeling where I cannot maintain momentum but for the most part its awesome!

Have to disagree on everyone learning to drive manuals - the more that can't, the less chance of truck theft.

I was thinking of a remote stranded type of situation (especially if the road/ trail has difficult obstacles). Having some passengers that know how to drive stick would be helpful.

haha I'm kinda glad that most of my relatives including my wife do not know how to drive stick because they don't drive me precious truck hahah.. on the downside the less manuals means less capable techs to work on your truck and less support/.

Way back in Jr High School 2 teachers went hunting and took the jeep deep into the woods. The teacher that owned the jeep sliced himself with a knife from his thumb to his bicep and unfortunately the other teacher did not know how to drive a stick! The one bleeding profusely was trying to teach the other how to drive to get them out of the woods and to the hospital. For some reason this thread reminded me of a 35 year old story.

Samzies as this guy. Nothing but MT's in my family. Too bad there's no TRD OR 6' bed 6MT option in the 3'rd gen. Upside to it is that 2'nd gens configured that way become the most rare configuration aside from the PRO / BAJA crowd.

I hear ya, I love driving a manual (will never own an auto if I can help it), but wheeling in one is an art in and of itself

No wonder I could not find it. The link is in the 3rd gen forum. I would assume the search function would work across the whole site. If you just search "manual Transmission" the thread you posted does not show up.

Creating usable search algorithms is something that plagues site and database developers. O well guess we can all migrate over to that other thread.

Yeah, the search function on this site isn't the greatest. I can count on one hand how many times I've used it in the past year. I always search google in this format:

    tire sizes site:www.tacomaworld.com

Them it will search the term "tire sizes" on this website alone.
