I am new to tacomaworld and the forums, but I am here to say hello and also ask for help.

So I have the ready lift installed and 31 all terrain tires. Now I know gas milage is not going to be the same as the tiny little tires, but I was wondering what I can do to help my gas mileage, because everytime I go over hills I feel like I'm literally burning money away. I also don't feel like the power is as strong as I would like it. I honestly would like to do something I don't know what I have to do I'm not that knowledgeable, but I am willing to learn. I am averaging around 14.5mpg to 15.5mpg and I'm driving it like a baby to just keep it around that mpg. I heard that stock gears are what is causing this. I have a automatic so I don't know the steps I need to improve it and it is my daily driver. Thankfully my work pays for gas milage :p, but I would like to increase the overall performance and gas milage and I don't know what would be the proper steps. I have a budget of 800-1000$ and I plan on doing it in a month or to. I also plan on upgrading the suspesion, mostly because it needs it and we'll it would be nice to take it to some trails and not worry about bumps to much or be a little less fragile. The suspesion budget is not included I am working on that later and saving funds for it. I might just save 2k for the LT kit, but I'm worried about that as this is my DD. I don't drive far unless I am going to work which I get paid back for the miles/gas so I am not that much in a hurry. I really like the forums and I have been stalking all of you for sometime now, thank you HD for the advice you post on these forums you have helped me many times, and thank you to all the 5 lug members who have shared your knowledge, I am sure there are more stalkers like me stealing your informations;P. Thanks guys- long story short need advice on how to go about rehearing or increasing gas mileage and performance. I'm a newbie so installing this might be impossible and I have a 1000 max budget this is my DD so it has to be almost perfect I don't want to hurt the truck. I am looking towards turbo or regear and maybe both in the future just don't know the perfect steps and I want to keep it simple. I will show you all pictures of my truck I just haven't taken any yet. On my phone sorry for grammar or typos

Goodyear Wrangler TrailMark 31's. F.B's 2.75" spacer, TRD rear shocks, stub antenna, ripped out charcoal filter added AFE dry, Chrome grille, upgraded to SR5 sun visors, variable wipers, backup camera, HID DDM 35w 5000kv, ebay fogs w/yellow LEDs.
Did you adjust your calculation for the bigger tires? I'm bad at math but I figured i go about 330 miles when it reads 300. I got 31s too.
First things i did was rip out the charcoal filter, then replaced the stock filter with an AFE Dry.
Then i added an eco block by crawford. Freeway hills are much easier with this set up.
Also i put premium 91 octane.
I don't drive like a grandma i do 80mph average and 75mph at 2600rpm up hills with no downshifting to 3rd.

With my calculation I'm getting 17.8mpg

So I have not done that yet. I am guessing that I may be getting better gas milage then 15 or 14 then. I still would like to get a boost in power. Didn't know 91 octane worked. I might have to check out your build thread. Have you regeared or you still running the 3.58 stock gears. I hate the slug in 2nd gear I just can't stand it. 1st is fine but once I hit 2nd I fear the hills.

I could live with 17 or 18mpg, but if I'm actually getting 14 or 15 and driving like a baby then I need to change something.

I've always put 91 in my cars so i cant say it makes the taco move any faster or go farther :p
Regearing will enable the engine to use what it's got to full potential but i think mpg goes down.
I'm still on the fence on regearing or getting a LCE header. REgear and you'll always have to have at least 30s so resale might be harder if you plan on selling sooner than later. (People don't like modified used 5 lugs).

Good point on the resale, pretty sure 91 doesn't help and might not be healthy for the truck. I dont plan on sell this thing till it dies.

I say regear and get a lce header then:D
And i meant, i *can't* say 91 makes the truck faster or get more mpg. My bad, typo.

Well I am averaging 18.7mpg to 19.5mpg with 31s and wider rims. No regear I am just driving really slow and easy and try my best not to go past 2k rpms and keep it at 1.5k rmps. Highway 2krpms. Hills 2.3krmps to 2.5krpms. I drive it like a baby and so far after I recounted mpg I'm happy with the results. 18 to 19 mpg average all around is something I can be happy with since I do have bigger tires. I have the look and drive I want and the mpg. I do need the suspesion to be upgraded.
