I like how you can still access the truck bed (w/ tonneau) easily.

On one of my previous trips to Key West (1500 mi) with another pair of kayaks, some allen screws on the rudders loosened and were lost on the road. As a precaution I tape some things like that to make certain that everything I take gets there with me...

I just put on a Yakima rack (with the JetStream crossbars) on my truck but I used the new Streamline feet.
I thought about adding a factory rack, but the crossbars on the factory rack weren't long enough for me, so I like what you did there, factory rack but with longer crossbars.
How much room do you have between your bars? Obviously you have a hitch mounted rack, but if you didn't have that, do you think the kayaks would be okay just on the roof rack? What is that hitch mounted rack called? I may pick one of those up to use with longer lumber if I don't want to tow the trailer.

The hitch mounted rack is a Yakima Dry Dock. If you purchase that, you will also need a Yakima load bar as the load bar is not included with the Dry Dock. I use a 76" bar on mine. I would not trust my roof rack alone, with or without my load bars to carry my kayaks. I tie my kayaks down with a rope to the chassis which you will note runs between the cab and the bed. The fronts are tied down to the rear load bar on the roof and at the dry dock which is mounted to the tow hitch. If you choose to put everything on the roof you need to make sure that the load is tied down to other substantial parts of your truck. Front bumper and chassis would do it. You can also tie down to some ditch light brackets which mount to your hood hinges. See pix. Additionally, your roof is already drilled for a factory rack or one of the aftermarket racks such as a Baja...

    Looks Great!

How do you feel the about the stability of the factory rack? I was reading and it has a weight limit of 75 LBS and I will be putting a load warrior on the rack. I know I have a truck now, but i will still need use it to carry 2 bikes at times.

    Thank you

Not quite sure about what you mean by "stability" Personally, if I were installing a load warrior to the crossbars, I would be sure to tie the load warrior basket to the 4 tie down loops located on the main rails of the factory rack. I would use heavy duty straps for that. For me, more is better, so I would also tie the front of the basket to my ditch light brackets or in your case to the hood hinge area. Post a pix if you put it up...

Isn't the new rack rated at 100lbs? I can't remember, but even though the pre-2016 OEM rack is the same thing and will ft the 2016, one is rated at 75lbs and the other is rated at 100lbs, even though they are supposedly identical. I had a pre-'16 OEM rack on my '16 for a while and it was super solid. I'd be confident is having more than 75lbs up there in the configuration that these are using it when the OEM rails are closed, but who knows how much more. The OEM rack is pretty solid and I never had a problem with it. I only removed mine because I didn't like the way it looked on top of getting a camper shell with rails for n aftermarket rack.

They did a part # change and the new rack is rated to 100 lbs. The previous version part # was PT287-35130 the new part # is PT287-140.

The install was not bad, except for the fact it was NIB and didn't have instructions. The are really easy to find online. You will need a 25 and 30 torque there is one other size I forget as I need to instal one of the rails, socket 3 inch extension and an lb torquewrench. Other than thatit is straight forward. I missed a step in the directions and had to start again in the middle. Shame on me. It does state to torque and wait 5 min and torque again. Do this! Mine needed a good torque again.

Many people have had issues with fifment. They are not perfect, but let them sit in the sun and get hot and hit them down again and they will look pretty good.

Stability? They are pretty solid but nothing like the rack on my subaru. Because these arms swing there is some play in them. However, I will trust them for my purpose.

I would say a load warrior will be fine. That is what I will be doing at times.

    Over all I am happy.

Thanks for the comments and everyone's insight.

I have only had it 8 days and it is starting to look like my truck. Many more things to come overtime....
