What is this loud popping noise when I turn my front wheels out of a parking spot?

I've got the same issue. I am going to try to torque the LCA bolts to 100 ft lbs and I will chime back in this weekend. If that does not work I will change the tie rod ends.

Mine only pops on first start up and when turning to the right but from all the descriptions here it's the same noise.

I re-torqued my lower strut bolt which may have helped, but I can't be sure. Some videos on youtube suggested LCA bushings, but mine are fine.

Turn your steering full lock see where the steering stop touches the control arm apply a dab of grease on the control arm and try it again. This will not cure it except for a short time the bolt head when new had a plastic cap on it this was a problem for years on 2WD trucks it actually will not do any damage to the truck you can either replace the bolt or just put up with.

I had a similar problem some years back with an 80s Toyota Truck - 22-RE engine. The upper control arm bushings on drivers side were worn.

    youtube full of how-to-analyze-how-to-fix videos.

First, that only helps if you are rubbing the steering stop at full turn. That's a really sharp turn, and it's doubtful that you are going to be turning that hard out of a parking spot normally.
Additionally, they got rid of the plastic cap and they just apply grease these days.

It does not need to be full lock a dip in the road makes it worse. You don't need to try my ideal just continue to come up with complex/expensive problems to what might be a simple issue talk is cheap it is either what I believe it is or you have an issue that needs to be corrected before some thing comes apart.

All right, I got under the truck yesterday and one of my LCA cam bolts was hand tight.. I could remove it without tools

Jacked it up with the hi lift and torqued to 100 ft lbs, pop went away

My pop was at less that walking speed, moving straight in reverse, out of my garage that has a 1/4" or less dip between the slab and the driveway. Not really sure how I'd be hitting the steering stop.
I could sometimes get it to happen at a 15mph turn, which is again too much of a wide turn.

Tightening bolts isn't expensive, and it looks like it's solving at least two issues :)

Then it's not the steering stop hitting the control arm. I'm glad some one saw my point the trucks have been making a noise on a slow tight turn since the 70's very common noises in suspension systems are not normal and except in the case of the steering stops some thing is going to break. If the camber bolt was that loose there was a chance of some serious consequences I'm glad the problem has been repaired. Like I said talk is cheap the only way to deal with it is craw under and have a look.

I recently had this "Popping Noise" and it was getting worse. I torqued up the LCA cam bolts and so far my popping noise went away, I had 2 of the four caster bolts under 100lbs of torque.

I've seen worn upper control arm bushings on an older model of Toyota truck cause this. Could be either.

Could it possibly be the intermediate steering shaft or steering rack guide?

    sub'd....

Just received new frame and LCA's less than 500 miles ago and did not hear popping sound before but when I reverse with wheels turned to the left - pop! I will probably check LCA bolts soon.

You serious? *note: you tighten/loosen the front(bolt head) of the front bolt and the rear(nut) of the rear bolt.
