It depends on your driving habits and where you drive in all honesty. Without that info, it's hard to say. That said, if you are worried about tread life because tires are expensive, then you're gonna want all terrains.

I wasn't trying to lecture you.

From a guy that rolled MT's on his previous truck, mostly highway at 70-75 mph, it wasn't worth it. They chunked out on garbage on the road and wore like crap. That said, offroad they were fantastic, but that was all of about 1 weekend a month. The AT's before it had about 40k on them and half tread when sold for a couple hundred, compared to the half tread on the MT's around 20k. So in my experience, about double the tread life depending on the compared tires.

That's more of a lecture than my previous post. But you do you man.

Depending on brand and driving style, I've seen anywhere from a 20% to 40% drop in tread life running an MT over an AT. On certain vehicles in the fleet I manage I can justify the increased replacement interval by the offset in increased off-road performance. That being said, I now run the Cooper Discoverer AT3 on both my personal and work Tacoma and couldn't be happier. I also don't hit the extreme back country with anywhere near the frequency that I used to.

    Tell us the variables .............

    Wear rating of tires

Where 80% of your driving is done (pavement/dirt/gravel/mud)

We'll assume alignment is in order and you keep it that way, along with proper air pressures.

Then we'll give you a guess.
