Hello! was hoping maybe someone on here could get me pointed in the right direction on my AC unit problems. the truck is a 2002 3.4 Tacoma, and as the title says the AC is out and ive got nothing but warm/hot air no matter the selection on that control. I've had it in at the shop and it has plenty of cold juice, but I just can't figure out the deal. Is there an area or switch to check to see if it's engaging from the control unit? any help or info would be much appreciated!

There's a wire on the compressor. Check it. Also when you turn on the ac is the compressor engaging ?

Make sure there's not too much refrigerant in the system. Like said earlier, check to see if the compressor is engaging. If yes, check the suction line (the large one that goes to the firewall) to feel if it's cold. If so, you might have a bad expansion valve.

Or check to make sure the temp control lever/arm under the dash hasn't come unhooked, or just stuck.

    Find another shop.

    1) They can't tell if it has plenty of 'cold juice' unless it's running. So, why did it run for them and not you?

    2) A good shop won't let it leave w/o telling you exactly what's needed to fix it (allowing you to decide to proceed or not) or actually fixing it, if that's what you authorized them to do.
