Hi, I am in the market for my first Tacoma. I have found almost the perfect truck for me. The only thing I don't like is the Automatic Transmission. It is a 2013 Tacoma 4x4 TRD Sport, Access Cab with 22k miles. It has Power Windows/Locks, Alum Wheels and Bedliner. The dealer is asking $27k, this is a local dealer, the truck is not CPO. What would be a good price for this truck. I live in Northeast Ohio.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thx

    Sparky

They are pretty proud of that truck.
    1. Look at the warrenty if it excudes the susspension walk away
    2. 27k is what new 2015 with about 10k miles go for being a 13 and acess cab you could probleby get down to 23-24 (dont quote me on that) i would check kbb or edmunds too
    3. You live in a northern state look for rust issue especially the leafs and frame as well.
4 check the brakes and headlights, has been sitting outside for a long time, and no one ever drove it can cause expensive detailing later down the road.

I'd say that is about right, but every market is different. For comparison, I got my 4x4 2013 dcsb trd offroad for $27.9k after dealer fees. 39k miles and CPO. It was way lower than any other dealer around here for same truck. Actually drove out of state for the deal. Have you shopped around?

I bought my brand new 2014 4x4 non TuRD about 1.5 years ago... There was a turd on the lot same truck except it was a turd with 13k miles and nav. They wanted same price for it... Around $32500 which is what I bought mine for new. They are very proud of them. I'd say 27k is a good price for them... Agree that 25k is what you should push for... My 2 cents...
    Double cab short bed btw

That's pricey for an access cab. I'd be at about 23k if I actually wanted an access cab.

What do you guys mean by that? I've never heard that term before, as it applies to the dealer.

I guess it is southern gulf coast slang. It means that the dealers sell them at a high price & do not go down much very easily. I suppose that is what the market allows for. It isn't just a yota or taco phrase. Anything that has a higher price that you would estimate would be something the seller is "proud of". It is sort of like he has so much pride in that thing that he refuses to accept anything less than top dollar. Hope that helps.

Yeah when I bought my '12 trd or access cab, they wouldn't budge much on price. In fact, I had walked away from probably 8 different trucks because dealers don't need to drop the price. I ended up getting mine from a gmc dealer for $23,300 before tax title license. A lot of dealers keep one or two to bring people to the lot, then when they won't budge they show people other brand trucks. It's like that car posted on their website that "just sold" when you go to look at it.
