    I think Marie is referring to the LEO who was killed a few days ago. They think he actually hit the bear on his mountain bike. The details are pretty gruesome.

    I have friends who are very close to, but not involved in, the investigation. There's a lot of speculation, but the details suggest he might have hit the bear - it's the best explanation for its....aggressive...behavior.

    I know many people who knew him personally and professionally. It's a real tragedy, but the bear was really just being a bear. From its perspective, it was being attacked.
