My Portable Air Solution

    Had to retire my old portable air compressor. It was one of those battery jump start/ air compressor combos. It was over 14 years old and has served me well. But it was slowwwwww!

    Here's my criteria for compressed air:
    1. Needs to be portable so I can transfer between vehicles.
    2. Needs to be fast.
    3. Needs to be reliable.

    Here's what I came up with:

    Old hand gun case

    $592 ARB CKMTA12 '12V' On-Board Twin High Performance Air Compressor, Ideal for Air Lockers Locking Differentials, Tire Inflator, Air Horn, Air Tools and Pneumatic Tools.
    ARB CKMTA12 mounted onto 1/4" plywood fitted inside the case. Underneath plywood is a layer of thin foam to deal with vibration.

    Used the provided ARB power harness. Added Anderson 175 Quick Connects. 1/4" Flexilla Air Hose fits nicely inside top of pistol case. Left side shows ARB inflator and Trailhead deflators preset to 18 PSI

    On/Off toggle switch mounted onto plywood base.

    I can quick connect to the Warn type "(Anderson") power cables that also provide power to portable winch and a bonus jumper cable. Same power connection is available at the rear of truck.IMGP6217.jpg

    This thing is FAST, FAST, FAST and extremely QUIET!
