Okay, I read the posts and I'm a believer. Last week I posted that my tranny was checked after a little hassle with the dealership and was found to be almost a quart low.

Today, I had a blow out on my rear Kevlar Goodyear tire. Seems that the road rubber is not Kevlar reinforced and therefore...not puncture prf. I took my tire to my local Indy tire/auto shop. These guys are great. I asked them while they had my truck on the lift to check my U bolts and driveshaft u joints.

Well... The mechanic had to torque all eight u-bolts to 52 ft/#s, (The back right needed a lot of tightening, but all eight were below specs).

Driveshaft, all 5 zero fittings were dry. It took 5-10 pumps by the mechanic to get them greased up...they had to be bone dry.

Attached is the bill I gladly paid and will wave in front of the service manager the next time I visit the dealership. For less than $30, it was worth my piece of mind and not having to hassle with asking and waiting on the service at the dealership.

Glad you got it worked out! I'm sure a lot of people will say "Force the dealer to do it, raise a stink, etc" but sometimes it's just not worth the BS. If someone is driving a 2016 Tacoma, I'm sure they can shell out a few bucks to save a headache. I know I will.

Haven't heard too many issues with the OEM Goodyear Kevlar tires. Mine have held up great and I've driven the piss out of them over some really jagged rocks, cactus and mesquite thorns here in AZ.

Is that torque for the u bolts standard spec for the 2016? I ask so I can better direct dealer or mechanic when my truck finally comes.
