Aftermarket Radio Install Help (1st gen)

Ive been reading everything on how to install this damn thing but i still have questions. After looking at this:

how do I connect the tweeters in the door?
should i use the leads for the rear speakers (I have a reg. cab)?
or are these connected with the front speakers so i only use the white and gray wires?

for all the speaker wires (2 of each color), does it matter which is positive and negative? theres no indication on them so can i just connect it however?

last, should i connect the black ground to the harness adapter or should i just ground it?

i take back the second part. on the harness adapter, the positive and negative sides are labeled, but they arent on the radio harness. does it matter?

Usually lighter is positive (red,white,grey, etc.) and darker or a light colored with a dark stripe is negative (black, white with stripe, etc.).

The polarity of the wires absolutely does matter in order for your system to even work.

Tweeters should run to a crossover that also connects the mid as well to the head unit or amp.

As to the ground, I can imagine you could do either as long as you ground it properly.

for each speaker there are two of the exact same wire, one for +, one for -.
for example, there are two gray wires for the right front speaker. on the harness adapter i got, the positive and negative are labeled. on the wire bundle that connects to the back of the head unit, there are no labels so idk which is which.

for the ground, i figured as much but wanted to be sure.

now when you say the crossover connects the mid, what is a mid?
