    I just bought my silver tacoma 3 weeks ago. its got 55,000 miles 4 door 6 foot bed tow pkge........i want to put a cold air intake and my accelerater has got stuck twice in a nearly floor'd position due to winter mats......just any one have some hints on how to navigate site thing bout my truck.......any info to heelp[ a noob out

    what brands the best i'm going for the k n n most likely and din't kno if the polished stainless was better performing of jsut loks better that the black plastic/teflon duct

    I have the K&N 77 Series which is the stainless steel piping, which was delivered to me with nicks and scrapes on it,,,no big deal. But i dont think it matters which material you get, some people believe the plastic piping stays cooler, some think it doesnt matter which is me, but it all depends which look you like the best :thumbsup:

    If you look at the dyno results for the metal 77 series vs. the black aircharger (part 63-9026 on the 4cyl) , it seems the aircharger performed better... However mine seems to resonate alot above 3k rpm, it's possible that the metal one may be a bit quieter.

    As for CAI - K&N sucks in air from inside the engine compartment so not sure if it really qualifies as such. Toyota makes a real one, as does AFE and URD.

    Oh ya, another recommendation on the Weathertechs. They absolutely rock over any other mat.

    As for the floor mat issue, a cheap way to go about "fixing" it is to just cut out a little notch in the mat. Just put your truck neutral, put the pedal to the floor and find out where its hitting the mat. Use a sharpie or something to outline the pedal, and then cut ~1/2" outside of that line.
