I had been repeatedly told that it was just a "characteristic" of the tacoma, but I finally got a service advisor actually look into it and he found this. Finally somebody I can trust(maybe) at my local dealer! I'll try to find the actual TSB, I believe I have it.

I thought this was a driveshaft issue, there was a recall for my truck. Felt like someone was bumping the back of the truck.

This is an old copy of it I found, they did extend it to the 2013 tacoma, it will be under the same tsb # and it is the same instructions.

    Good luck!

Anyone done the spark knock TSB and had good luck? My 12' has done it since new pretty much now with 37k. I had always figured it was the normal "tic" but I think it's this instead

If you are in warranty you might as well take it I in for the fix. Seems to have worked for me.

I have a 2015 SR AC 4x4 and I'm in the same boat. Clunking noise when I am shifting I have taken it to a couple dealers both listen to my complaints and then do not look into the problem. My truck was lifted around 6000 mi and now they claim its due to the lift. B.S. Fortunately I had it documented on my first service. I have taken it up with corp. and am going to be calling them after reading these posts. I am very interested as to the outcomes of your issues.

so I have a question. there is a tsb ( T-SB-0250-12) for an issue I m having. but it says for some 2wd from 2005-2012. mine is 4wd does this still apply? Also I'm out of the mileage range but I did ask them about it right after I first bought it. do you think they would still fix it?

Yes and it's atrocious, dealer has replicated and no fix yet... I have dripline (irrigation) in the door seal and that does "fix" it.

I snapped a couple, hose just sits in the channel I haven't glued it in since I want to easily take it out if a tsb occurs.

Did you check the rear air exit filter/outlet for obstructions??
