Had a fun time at the car show today and had fun bench racing with friends . Also today was talking with another car show promoter about an event being planned by the city of Victorville . This event will be drag racing on closed city streets of a distance of 300'

This promoter said he really likes my Camaro and it sounds awesome

The luddites were people in old england that smashed the textile machines because they were afraid of new technology. It now refers to people that won't learn new technology or are afraid of new stuff.

LOL wikipedia is your friend.. Andy it wasn't that long ago that you finally broke 50 pages and now you're almost in the 500 pages?! Shasta is a flat top but sitting on a geo marker in the Olympic Mountains of Wa. you can look at Flattop Mount St. Helens and all the way down to Crater in Or. and up to the BC range. Well on the few days of the years when the clouds don't interfere. Your are in a great place weatherwise.

Those of you that are in the high heat and humidity index have my sympathy! Been there done that and had enough heat stokes working in the engine room and boiler room of ships in the Gulf and equator for 20 years. And Susan thanks for checking on me. Your words of wisdom that you gave me and also posted here about children are golden nuggets. Just saying...

Jim stay cool down there! Marty I hope things work out well for your mother. Couple of years ago moved my mother from Fl. to NC to be near my youngest sister, it was a major stroke. My youngest son had a minor stroke with his treatment for cancer and lost his peripheral vision and vision in his left eye. Both cancer and strokes suck, hope it works out in the end.

This place has really taken off and not sure I can keep up. But have checked in over the last couple of months and enjoy reading it. Drop a Chevy small block V8 in it with a Holly 650 on top and low end torque. Oh wait you all are talking high end lately... Not exactly a Man-A-Fre thing but understand too.

Being a retired USN Machinist Mate love the "nuts" thread because there is no torque wrench for 600 psi steam flanges let alone 1200 psi on ships and a slugging wrench with a 20# sledge hammer are the tools. One twitch on the nuts for 600 psi and 2 twitches for the 1200 psi flanges. Have had my share of hernial operations LOL. But also makes me realize should replace the OEM lugnuts thank you for that.

Mike I am interested in how your wood project turns out. Love woodworking but it is the finishing that sucks the life out of you. But the star of end result is worth it if everything comes together.

@ work....(boo) Ready for a 15hour+ day. Yesterday didn't go as planned. We were on our way to go do some off roading when we were witness to a Jeep wrecking. It flipped end ove end, then side over side. Occupants jumped out (unhurt) and started throwing stuff in the woods along the roadside. Turned out to be a mobile meth lab. Police locked down everything and kept all the witness' there for quite a while. Shot the hell outta my day. Went home and waxed the truck instead. Oh well.....Time to get busy.

Geez Blue, a mobile meth lab in a Jeep? I guess I lead a sheltered life cause I didn't even know someone could do that. After a day like that waxing the truck is therapeutic, needless to say I do it often. I hope you have a good day.

Last time I golfed was early AM in San Diego ~30 years ago. I worked night shift at Children's Hospital and after work, my buddies and I went to the local golf course to have a few beers and try to do 9 holes. I wasn't much interested in golfing, and very much interested in the few beers, so I manned the golf cart. After 7 holes and a few beers, I inexplicably drove the golf cart over the wooden bridge and landed right into the creek.

Who get's banned from a golf course?

    Me.

Everything was contained in a couple 2-liter soft drink bottles and a canvas duffle bag. The Fire Dept captain on scene was telling me it was just about to explode when they found it. It wouldn't have been exactly a giant explosion, but it would have been a real mess.

It was a shame about the Jeep too. It was an early 80's model CJ7 that looked to have been pretty much in mint condition prior to being slammed into the guard rail then flipped. The frame was buckled near the motor mounts. Front axle torn off, and the body was destroyed. Only thing that saved 'em was they were wearing seat belts.
