i got screwed when buying my current 16. i have a 14 TRS sport 4x4 and i traded it under the impression my 16 on order was a 4x4 so i trade my 14 2 weeks before taking possession on the 16. toyota said sorry not sorry but gave me a credit toward up grades. trust me i wish i had a 16 4x4 but it is what it is now

Wow that sucks! What dealer was that? I got a 2wd by choice because at that moment I just wanted to lug my stuff around on the dirt but being on TW makes me want to go out and try this fun stuff. I figure if I really actually get into it I can trade up in a few years and after a few raises.

Nice, how was Mt Antero? I'm heading up there this weekend to climb it. Did you go up the Baldwin Gulch jeep road (277/278?) or did you go up Brown's Creek? I was thinking about seeing how high I could get up the Baldwin Gulch road.
Went down to Medano pass last weekend.. was a pretty fun little drive. We went up the east side and camped just over the pass. Came back over the pass because I wasn't sure how high the water crossings were this time of year.

image.jpg image.jpg Made it up Bolam Pass in Southwest Colorado for the weekend. A cracked rear bumper and dented skid were the only casualties. The view wasn't great because we're in the clouds.

I don't either, but it did answer my question that the locker does not limit your mph. Can anyone else confirm this?

My original question got twisted. I don't care ware it tops out, just that it does not top out at something like 3mph like I thought I read somewhere.

(i'll post up the actual photos from the shoot once he's done editing and whatnot...)

Anyone know of any spots in or around Charleston, SC? The wife and I have been dying to give the 4x4 some exercise!

Believe it needs to be in neutral for 4lo. You really can't go fast when engaged. If you want speed and 4wd put it in 4hi.

Right. Locking diff isn't changing gear ratios. You just can't turn for shit when engaged. The back wheels just skip off the ground. Remember when I was in my teens. My buddy welded his diff for "drifting", could go fast but turning sucks.
