Is anybody from the east bay headed to san jose, los gatos area in the near future? Trying to arrange getting @Rustbucket my stock tire and rims.

 

I commute from Fremont to Sunnyvale (237/101) m-f. If @Rustbucket can come up closer to me, I can bring them down.

 

I have a cab rack but haven't mounted anything to them yet. No issues and I like the quality of it.

 

When did you do this? All on the staircase? Or some at that tree part?

 

Btw, rocked corral hollow on the way home with the torn cv.

 

At the waterfall. Still works with a slight vibe at 70 mph. I'll try to get a replacement prop shaft this week. I'm calling Pittsburgh Driveline in the morning to see how much it would cost for a thicker- walled shaft, or see if they can repair and rebalance this one. Really like the idea of carrying a spare after this weekend. Otherwise, I'm just going to roll with it "as is" next weekend.

 

@jqueener had the idea of putting a spare in a tube and mounting it under the truck. Going to work on carrying a spare axle first myself

As is should be fine, next week is nothing like last weekend. I will have plenty of gorilla tape with me!

 

I've had great service and products at driveline services of Sacramento. They made me a custom length driveshaft and thicker walled shaft for way less than a replacement oem. I'd give them a call too Phil, and others.

He slid off a hard line onto the top of a nice size rock, and the driveshaft took the impact while turning. I almost took that hard line a few trucks before, it looked like the easy way up, I didn't see that slide risk either.

Sounds like the other one was the same but different obstacle. Assume Phil dented his driving over since it is only one gash.

 

anyone going to the gun show in Vallejo Sunday? ill be there buying up ammo.

 

Slipped off the rock and kind of bounced twice landing directly on spinning driveshaft. No bueno! Thankfully i had that gas tank skid or my tank would have been smashed
