    Well Tacoma friends, I sold my 2014 Tacoma 4x4 long bed 4dr being I moved. I recently(April) picked up my 2016 Toyota Revo Hilux 2.8L 4x4 4 dr short bed 2.8 liter turbo charged diesel truck in Thailand.

    I have to sayit is a very nice truck. I love the turbo diesel option. Prior to my departure and working with a few Thai guys in Thailand I had Toytec build me a 3" lift kit for the Hilux. I brought it with me. Home work paid off and it bolted right in. I connected with the owner of VVP4x4.com in Bangkok and we spent the Saturday with his Techs installing it all. I also added the Warn ZEON XP 8000-S winch and the Rival Laser cut skid plates.

    Here are a few pics

    Ready for the Toytec Boss Kit in front. I also added the Chaos Fab upper A arms with the SST spherical bearing.

    The kit installed

    The winch sits perfectly behind the factory front bumper of the Revo. The bracket is custom fab'd and welds to the front frame support.

    The tires and wheels I will bolt on next week. These were off my Tacoma in the US

    In Thailand the Hilux Revo dropped the hood scoop as they moved the air to air inner-cooler out front. In Thailand on the earlier Hilux Vigo the scoop was functional and sealed to the air to air inner-cooler up top.

    My Revo is a fully loaded model. It came with factory diff lock. Below are some pics;

    Steering wheel is on the right. The negative isn't backwards LOL!!!

    Stock donut's still on it. They will be leaving next week.

    The truck comes with 2 Glove boxes. The standard one is below, the upper allows you to divert the cold AC to it for drinks and whatever. Does a good job. These trucks do not have heaters.

    [IMG]

    I will be chipping it soon to free up some boost and make more HP

    I will also be adding rear disc brakes. The Toyota Fortuner over here comes with 4 WD disc brakes. That is the kit they come with. I will add to my truck. it is a direct bolt in.

    Hey Thanks my fellow Tacoma friends. I will add more pics once the the TRD wheels and tires are mounted. I am really looking forward to the Diesel Programmer. Nothing like freeing up some boost.

    If any one happened to be interested Thailand subsidizes all trucks. My truck was ~$31K out the door.

    Some other comparison info, Here in Thailand you can legally tint all windows, including windshield. In fact that is usually an incentive the dealership offers for you to buy the truck. the truck comes with a 3 year 100k kms (62.5K mile) warranty.

    When I look at the Hilux compared to my Tacoma they are the same truck...well sort of. The drivetrain is mostly the same. US trucks come with a ton of extra weight due to sound deadening material and loads of emission control stuff. Here they do not. Interior quality is the same. I like the ergonomics of my Hilux over my 2014 Tacoma. They do offer the TRD pkg here but I didn't see the value being all the better shocks and stuff I would take off. Oddly they call it the TRD Sportivo and I gotta say I wasn't keen on having "Sportivo" down the side of the bed. The 4X4 Diff lock decal is alright. I will also be removing all the badging except for the Hilux. The tailgate has like 6 emblems, kind of weird. Another really cool feature when you lock the doors the mirrors retract in. You cannot get a long bed with the 4dr option, Only with the single cab. I wanted a long bed but that wasn't going to happen. the 4 dr was more important.
