I've done plenty of mechanical work on my truck, but basically I don't know a whole lot about suspension.

My truck has 174,xxx miles on it and I'm sure some of the components in the front are worn. I recently got new tires and need to get an alignment, but I was thinking about replacing some of the components at the same time. My steering wheel feels pretty loose when I hit bumps, and also when breaking the lugs with a 4 way wrench, my tires would move back and forth from left to right.

I only have basic knowledge, but that seems bad, right? I probably shouldn't be able to do that.

My question is in relation to parts. I am going to probably go with Moog components from Amazon.

The obvious things I should replace would be tie rod ends and balljoints, correct? If yes, do I just order two ball joints, and one each inner and outer tie rod end?
Is there anything else I should order that would be easy for a tech to replace when they are in there? Rack bushings or anything?

    Thanks in advance!

You need to do a once over on your suspension and see what needs to be replaced.

Have you owned the truck for 174,XXX miles?

Most likely your tie rod ends, ball joints, bushings etc...even your struts and shocks!

Yes I've owned it since it had 6 miles on it. I guess I just need to crawl under it and look. I had the shocks and struts done recently.

Thanks for the heads up, sir.

It may just be good for me to have someone who knows wtf they are doing to look at it and let me know what is worn.
