I just purchased my 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport 3 weeks ago. My truck has only 1,000 miles on it. When I'm in park my truck shutters/shakes/Rumbles. I think its the transmission messing up. There also a weird cricket like noise coming from the truck and howling noise when I'm driving. Im a little irritated I have had this truck 3 weeks and it has these issues. I really do like the truck but when you sign the papers your expecting perfection. Im taking it in tomorrow. Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Some of you guys on here need to remember you were new once. Jeebus, help the guy out, don't just roll your eyes. You should point your frustration at Toyota for not fixing the issues that continue to show up.

It`s not about being new, it`s obvious to some of us that new accounts are being made to troll. Maybe he`s trolling , maybe not, but with all the 2nd Gen trolls that make comments on something that they don`t even own, it`s gotten old.

    But. OK

Pretty sure the only reason i joined this forum was because i had an issue.

Good luck op. Only thing that sounds normal is the cricket sound, that's the injectors.

    Welcome to TW OP.

I have 12,000 miles on my 2016 TRD OR.

Mine rumbles and shakes at idle all of the time. It is the injector cleaning cycle that is happening. I was a mechanic for over 20 years and thought my truck was falling apart. I talked with a Toyota engineer at our dealership who was there from the factory to answer questions at a gathering for new owners. He explained the injector cleaning and the atkinson cycle.

Mine shakes and rumbles, but I have no acceleration or power problems when leaving idle.

OP, if you don't have any hesitation or power issues it is normal. Take it to the dealership to be sure.

    Enjoy your new truck.

I am fine with 2wd and I never used it with my previous trucks. I was seeking members that have used 2wd off-roading . I don't think I'm trying find (problems). I think I just bought a new truck and wondering what is going on with it. just seeking feedback not opinions on my purchase or my intentions

Speaking of the shaking/rumble at idle, I traded in my FRS that had the same problem. We (FRS Forum) discovered that it happened at idle when the A/C was on. The compressor would kick on and drive the RPMs down, causing the car to shake before it would raise the RPMs to compensate. Toyota released an update to fix it. It just idled higher when the A/C was on.

What do you mean by "noise and shudder at idle?" I described mine as "coughing and sputtering at idle" and just got it fixed yesterday. They have a known problem with the crank sensor. All better now.

Mine does it too. I guess its a known issue. I've got around 6xxx miles. Hoping the break in period solves it. We shall see.

I wouldn't describe the injector cleaning cycle as rumble and shaking...well maybe a gentle shake and rumble like a slightly rough idle. So it depends on the severity of the rumble and shake as to whether or not it is normal. Id take it to the dealer if you feel it is abnormal, which apparently you do or you would not be posting here.

My 2016 4 banger does the same thing on warm up. Like a little mini "cam shake" from a built v8

congrats on the truck --- i have not had that problem, but i've had a few annoyances which will be addressed at the 1st oil service.

but just remember, its mechanical and its a 1st gen model; better all this happens within the warranty period than after.

(or, take a match to it and buy a Prius).
