My neighbor used to have a 1983'ish Chevy Chevette. That thing would squeal like a banshee when she started it up or took the corner around our neighborhood. I'd guess it was the power steering pump. Could hear her coming 2 blocks away. Made me chuckle thinking back about that...

Thank god it isn't as noticeable (if at all) with the windows up.

Spent all this money on a nice catback only to pull up to a stoplight sounding like a bunch of baby birds

Maybe that explains the excessive bird feces on the hood

Mine also has a slight wobble. That however was not the chirp issue for me. The High pressure Fuel pump was the answer. I am almost at 15k miles here in Kodiak and still no chirp.

Try putting 300ml of lucas oil upper cylinder lube fuel treatment in your fuel tank just before fill up and use highest non ethanol fuel you can get. It worked for my truck, had same chirping. It pretty much went away immediately. Known issue on Scion FRS and Subaru's. Just Google it known issue....

The noise (as determined by Fuji engineers) is caused by cavitation (bubbles) in the high pressure pump with certain fuel blends in certain conditions. It makes sense to me that adding a lubricant to the fuel can affect the noise, as the oil changes the surface tension of the fuel making it less likely to foam up.

The only potential downside is the additives may reduce the octane rating of the fuel, but 2 oz. per tank is negligible.

I have the chirp. When I took it in for the tranny TSB they told me it was the fuel pump. I think it is interesting that some have the chirp and some don't.

Okay, so I can absolutely confirm this issue. Today was my first fill up after initial treatment with Lucas upper cylinder fuel treatment. I filled up with Chevron 87 octane with tactrol which on the pump says also may contain 10% ethanol. I didnt have any chirps before this fill up right to empty after initial first teatment. Sure enough right after leaving the gas station and five minutes into drive, sitting at a stop light the chirps / crickets are in full force. I pull over at a safe spot and pull out the treatment and add 200ml. Guess what noise went away within 5mins. So my feeling is that its the ethanol or shit gas. Next fill up will be with 94 octane and no ethanol and then that should prove out that ethanol is the issue.

You may be correct. Im honestly not sure. Putting in 94 octane is a waste IMO. All I can say is that I got my High pressure Fuel Pump changed out at 5k miles. I am almost at 14000 miles after driving across the world, using whatever gas was available and I still don't have any chirps......

I found that my truck only chirps after it is good and warm. It never does it on first start up. Is this what others are experiencing, or do some have it on start up?

Mine was doing the same thing after warming up and more so if the weather outside is hot. Would be curious to know if anyone else has tried Lucas upper cylinder fuel treatment and if it worked for them.

I hear the chirping on 2016 TRD Sport. Doesn't make a difference if AC is on or off. If idling or coasting, the chirp is there. Press on gas, in P or D, chirping stops. Still thinking pulleys? I have no idea.

Yes SWAT, I don't hear it at first. After 5-10 minutes of driving around town, I start hearing the chirp.

I only hear it after the truck has sat for a couple hours. Makes noise as I'm pulling out of sparking spot. Then I never hear it again
